Philly Girl's Night Out

On Friday, I had the opportunity to meet the Philly Mom's Blogger Group for dinner at Buca Di Beppo in Exton. Now you know that I live in Delaware, but I have been very curious about blogger meet ups so I decided to have an adventure and do the drive to meet some new people. I plugged the address in my GPS and it told me that it should take about 2 1/2 hours to get there. Not that bad! So I got a sitter, put on makeup, got dressed up, and started the hike. I left at 2:00 thinking I'd be there in plenty of time that I may even be able to stop in to Target to spend a birthday gift card. Now I did have to make one stop to drop off my truck to get the 4wd serviced, but that took about 15 minutes and my rental car and I were back on the road. I was going right along until I came to interstate where rush hour was in full speed or should I say full crawl! What should have taken me maybe another 40 minutes took me about 2!! I finally got to the restaurant almost FOUR hours later. I kept telling myself..."These ladies better be highly entertaining after this drive"!

So when I arrived at the restaurant I found most of the ladies already there in the "Pope Room" a large round room with a massive round table that had the largest lazy susan I have ever seen in the middle. There were tons of yummy appetizers and Colleen was even nice enough to order me a glass of wine so as soon as I walked in I could sit and have a drink. See, mommy bloggers are nice in real life too!! Once I got settled I had a blast getting to know all the ladies. It was neat to learn even more about them and hear when they started blogging and why they do it. We ate and talked, drank and talked, ate some more and you guessed it...talked some more. I was apprehensive about going, but I am so glad that I did it. I met some awesome bloggers (you can meet them too using the blogroll on my sidebar) and even brought home some swag from Graco, newbaby.com, Smart Mom Solutions, Orville Redenbacher, Mom Central, and the Handyguys Podcast. Plus Lindsay from Graco also gave away 2 Nautilus carseats...they were cool and very heavy duty. A BIG shout out to Graco too, for picking up the dinner bill. That was pretty awesome of you all!!

So after spending a few hours meeting some awesome women I decided it was time to head for the beach. I was a little concerned after the trip ride up, but this time my GPS didn't let me down and 2 1/2 hours later I was home, safe and sound.

With a $100 offense ticket from EZ-Pass, but let's not talk about that right now!!!

The women were entertaining enough and I will most definitely be joining them again for the next Philly Mom Meetup!

Here are some pictures of the good times...

First up...Sarah @ Genesis Moments, Kim @ Situationally Single, Jo-Lynne @Musings of a Housewife, Katt, Whitney @ Mommies with Style (left to right)

Then...Amy @ Crazy, but the cool kind, Amy @ Occupation Mommy, and Erin from Graco

Plus...Margie @ Gunning It, Lindsay and Melissa from Graco, and Girlymama

Also...Colleen @ Classy Mommy, Sarah and Jo-lynne again

Don't forget...Beth @ A Total Mom Haircut, Me, and Sarah @ Water, Water, Everywhere.

Of course I couldn't not include a picture of our dessert...you know it's my favorite part of every meal. Here is our dessert tray with tiramisu, a huge chunk of chocolate cake, a strawberry cheesecake, and an apply crumb. You know I tried a bit of every one and washed it down with a glass from the bottle behind the tray. Yumm!!!

So what have I learned through my first meet up? You are crazy if you have the opportunity to meet some fellow bloggers and don't go. Be brave...they'll love you...even if you are 45 minutes late with a clashing purse and dress!!

  1. Sounds like an AWESOME time! So glad you went - sorry about the traffic and ticket though! : )

We have two of the Graco Nautalis seats. WHile they are heavy they are AWESOME! So nice that someone finally made a seat with a 5 point harness that goes above 40 lbs. Some of us have bigger kiddos who are still in need of the harness above 40 lbs! : )

  7. I am so glad you made the trip up- what a pain! I was actually telling my cousin about you on Saturday. She is a teacher and she said she keeps a journal on her desk to write down all the funny things the kids say - I told her to start a blog, of course! :)

It was truly our pleasure to co-host this event. We had such a fun time and I really do hope we do it again.
