I cannot even believe that it is October already. Where does time go?
The other night on a rare Twitter-a-thon I made the comment about how it's funny that we bloggers like to talk about being part of the community, but that in the almost month I haven't blogged not one person had emailed to see what was up. I honestly wasn't pointing fingers, I just found it interesting. Now I do have to say that I have had a few people tweet me to see what was happening and some of my readers who are my facebook friends also check in there, but that is about it.
After sending the tweet I had quite a few people reply back asking me if everything was okay, how I was doing, and a few even mentioned they did miss my posts ((remind me to send out their checks!!)). Then I had a couple people admit the same thing happened to them...they went m.i.a. and nobody even seemed to notice.
Then it hit me. Call me the black kettle cause here I was musing why people hadn't emailed me to see what was up when I had completely ignored some of my favorite bloggers when they had disappeared. Geez. Then there is the fact that while I haven't been blogging, I also haven't been visiting any of my favorite blogs either. I didn't have a clue what was happening in any of my "friends" lives.
The more I kept thinking about my blogging community, including the bloggers I've met IRL and the ones I only know through their posts, the more I realized that I'm starting to miss it all. I miss checking in on everybody, reading what everybody is up to, and sharing what is happening in my part of the blogosphere. Blogging is something that I do for me and I miss my "me" time.
So what I'm trying to say between the paragraphs of rambling words is...
I'M BACK!!
and boy does it feel good to be back with my box of chocolates!!!
I'm glad to see you back! I am trying really hard to get back into commenting on blogs. I used to be much better at commenting, but now by the time I get mine updated, I'm pretty much out of computer time.
ReplyDeleteI have been really behind on commenting, but I have been keeping an eye out for ya. I knew you were really busy with school, etc, and assumed you'd be back as soon as things slowed down a little. Also, I saw you pop up on twitter every so often, so I knew you were alive! I did reply to you a couple times or so on twitter - not sure if you ever saw them.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back! It's hard - I'm thinking about lots of peeps, but don't always have time to let them know. Trying to get more done in real life too! :)
lol! you keep me updated on Facebook. :D
ReplyDeleteIt helps when you're my FB friend! :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Mel!!! I really missed you. Your blog is one of the first I started following long before I even started blogging and I was just stalking!! So things just weren't right the last couple of weeks. Nice to have you back. PS There is a little blog award waiting for you on my blog!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I must admit I checked regularly and tapped in to the "Grammy hotline" a few times, so I knew all was well. BUT!!! I so enjoy your writing and pics, that I'm glad to see you're back and looking forward to catching up with you online. Love, Aunt Steph
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you have some "me" time for blogging. I knew you were safe thanks to seeing you in another location beside Twitter. September is a wild and crazy month in teaching and I chalked it up to that.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about going MIA on Twitter and nada person noticing. I was sick for a week and barely sent a Tweet - almost nothing.
It's great to see you back! I have to admit, with the start of fall, I have having trouble tweeting, reading blogs and writing my own. I guess it comes with the territory.
ReplyDeleteI missed you!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
ReplyDeleteI too have been missing in action.
I think I blogged a total of 4 times this summer.
With the days getting shorter, I feel like I have more time now...or maybe thats because I don't have as much outside activities to take care of.
Anyway, welcome back!
Yay, I'm so glad you're back! I was just thinking yesterday that those 5th graders must really be kicking your butt ;) I can't wait to hear about what you and your lovely family have been up to.
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute. The reason no one e-mailed is because we are all ignoring our blogs too but I agree, you do miss the online comaraderie after awhile. Great to see you and hope you can make some of the upcoming blogging events b/c that's what I live for - see everyone in person!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Back!!
ReplyDeleteI don't even think twice when a teacher goes MIA near the beginning of the school year. It's by far the craziest time of the year and I often used to curl into a little ball and try to hide from the month of September.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are back because i truly missed you! i must admit i have been pretty negelctful myself. With a little over 4 weeks left in this pregnancy i am busy running around like a chicken with no head.
