Is It Summer Vacation Yet?

One would think with the coming of summer vacation that it would mean a slower pace to life, but that aspect of summer vacation has yet to hit.
This weekend was awesome, albeit exhausting, as the kids and I spent Saturday and Sunday over at my parents house. It's always good to go home! Saturday afternoon my mom, Zoe, and I went shopping at the mall where I found a cute top and grandma treated Zoe to a new dress. Zoe was mesmerized with the mall since the closest one to us is about an hour away so we don't go very often. We only have outlets! For dinner, we enjoyed a yummy seafood Alfredo that my dad made for us. Lizann (my sil) and niece also spent the night there so it was a full house.
Then Sunday dawned with bright sunshine and my Bel Air Town Race. I conquered the hills of the race, but will save the details for it's own special post. After the race, it was a visit to Target, where unbelievably I found nothing I went for, but still bought a cart full of stuff. Am I the only that happens too? The afternoon was spent by the ice, cold pool although that didn't deter Dylan and Zoe or my little niece from diving right in. Brave souls they were! Then it was my favorite part of the weekend...CRABS! My mom and brother treated me to a crab feast with dozens of crabs and corn on the cob. The perfect birthday dinner! Dessert was the best chocolate cake I think I have ever had. I can't believe I didn't take a picture, because it honestly was perfection.
We loaded up the car and came back home last night. Lizann and my niece joined our caravan as my sis in law was kind enough to volunteer to watch Dyl and Zoe for these few inservice days I have. I actually kind of looked forward to going to school today since I only had to get myself at the door, didn't have to stop at any daycares, and could listen to the radio station of my choice. I even stopped by Dunkin Donuts for a cup of coffee and a bagel shop to get a warm, blueberry muffin. It was a very productive day at work too as I tackled my new classroom and got everything put away! I am thrilled that my new room is in order and all packed up for summer. I'm even excited thinking about next year and setting up a new room. Although, don't get me wrong, I am still ecstatic with my summer vacation starting in two days.
Then I can start thinking about...
  • Zoe's dance rehearsal Thursday night
  • Zoe's dance recital Saturday
  • Shopping for Key West (thanks to my girlfriends and a certain b-day gift card)
  • Pedicure/Manicure for the trip
  • Packing the kids to spend 3 days in Baltimore next week
  • Packing myself for the Key West trip
  • and I'm determined to get a beach day in this week too.

Priorities people, priorities!

  1. Glad you enjoyed your bday dinner of crabs! Sorry that Target didn't pan out the way you had hoped... and No, you aren't the only one who comes out with a basket full of nothing! Thanks for Sunday!

  2. nope! You aren't the only one to go shopping, not find anything you were looking for but spend over $100 on what you did find! It's terrible. :p

I'm so glad you had such a great birthday celebration! That sounds like a lot of fun.
