I finished the last Harry Potter book. I am a huge Potter fan, although not so huge as to sit outside a bookstore at 12:01 am, but I did have mine by the end of the weekend. I actually was not looking forward to reading the last book and saying goodbye to the little wizards who shared their last six years with me, but I gotta tell you that it was well worth the wait...the ending was perfect. I am a big closure person so I felt that it was wrapped up nicely with mysteries explained, and am thrilled that good overcame evil! I know the series has cause a stir within some conservatory circles, but I think J.K. Rowling is an excellent writer and that people of all ages can enjoy her books.
*Please don't inundate my comment section with why you chose not to read the book (series). We are all big people and as I respect your decision not to read it, please respect my decision to read and enjoy it. Thanks bunches!!
Thorn waited in the HUGE line and finished by Sunday after the book came out. Although I've never read one of the books, I adore the movies, and while Thorn was sleepingfor his nap the night it came out (he stayed up till 5am and was backup by 8) I did go in and snatch the book and read the last two chapters. Am I pathetic or what:> maybe I'll tackle reading book 1 now. Aunt Pam
ReplyDeletegood for you for reading all those LOONG books! I personally couldn't get into the books - but more cause I'm not a fantasy kind of girl. But I enjoyed the movies!
ReplyDeleteWonder if they'll make this one a movie too?

I'm with you - I thought it was an amazing ending - loved every minute of reading it - but I'm sad to see it all end. I guess I'll just have to read it again!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the ending was perfect. I was just sad that one of the characters who was killed died.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to read it again, I guess. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. (And yes, I was up past midnight.)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
