Figuratively, but also literally as My Fitness Pal recorded my tracking every day this week!!
I'm pretty proud to see how I've stuck with both tracking and exercising for going on my fourth week now. I've met and passed the 21 days it takes to make something a habit so hopefully they both will become second nature as I continue on my quest.
As far as food goes, not a bad week. I had a crab feast on Friday night and a birthday party on Sunday which threw me for a little loop. I tried to make the best choices possible, but everything looked so tasty. I confess that Friday's numbers were not so pretty, but on the positive side I tracked every.single.thing.I.ate. No cheating here! I didn't beat myself up about it either. I made better choices than I would have a month ago as I took smaller portion sizes, said no to second helpings of the bad stuff, and nibbled on veggies. I consider it a win!
The birthday party on Sunday I was faced with some of the same delicious bbq foods. I took small portions trying a little bit of whatever looked good {which was everything} and even enjoyed a small piece of cake. Since it was a later lunch, I was actually still pretty full around dinner time so I only had a few goldfish and a nectarine which meant I also met my calorie goal for the day too. All in all, not too bad!
I am noticing though that it is difficult for me to get under my calorie goal which is probably hindering the weight loss I'd like to see on my scale. When I was doing Weight Watchers Online I would hardly ever eat my exercise points, but I find myself constantly eating the extra calories I earn on My Fitness Pal. This week my goal is to really try to meet my nutritional goals including the water.
As far as exercise, I finished Day 17 of 30 Day Shred today. It feels so good to know I'm halfway through the program. I have started it twice now, but never ever finished so I'm pretty excited that it looks like I'll be finishing it this time. Last week, I got up 2 out of the 3 days before school to complete the program. While it took a bit of work to get my butt out of bed at 5:30 to go exercise, I did it. I have found that it works best when I get up, have a glass of oj or water while checking my email and Twitter for a few minutes, then hitting the video. The first circuit I'm a bit sluggish, but by the second circuit I seem to find my groove to get it done. I will say that I notice a huge difference at school. I'm more awake and ready to get going with the day it seems. I also feel much stronger, both physically and emotionally. Exercise does such great things for the mind, body, and soul!
So after a week of being pretty much on track I was excited to finally see some results from my scale.
