Things Are Finally Getting Done

Since I told you all I was going back to simpler times on the blogging front I just have to say how relieved I have been feeling.

On one hand I'm sorta sad that I had to back out from posting at Chic Critique and on the Philly Mom Blog because I loved being part of the groups, but on the other hand it has been nice to not worry about deadlines and content. I'm enjoying posting when I feel like it (which meant not much this past week), talking about what I want to talk about (which this week was pretty much absolutely nothing), and just sharing pictures here and there (thanks to Wordless Wednesday and our pool day).

I've been pretty productive this week though. I took care of daycare arrangements for Dyl on my inservice days, confirmed we got the teachers we wanted at Zoe's preschool, set up vet appointments for Max, cleaned the house, caught up on laundry, started working on my school website, and even fit in a day at the beach with friends. Not too shabby!

Of course I still have quite a to do list too. Please somebody tell me why I wait until the week before school starts to finally get appointments set up and tackle certain projects that could have been done anytime during the summer??

Unbelievable that school starts this week. I'm supposed to go back on Wednesday and Thursday, but like the good teacher I am will be going back on my own time on Tuesday and possibly Monday to start getting some things done. The beginning of the year is always a fun time with a clean room, freshly decorated, organized desk with blank pages and sharpened pencils, and a clean slate ready to be filled with lots of lessons and learning. I love setting up the room and putting up my first bulletin board. The other night, or maybe I should say morning since it was 1am, I came up with my kick off theme and I can't wait to put it up. Don't worry I'll take pictures to share.

Now if only I would get my dang student list so I can beging preparing for the darlings that are going to arrive at my classroom door!

So my summer is slowly drawing to a close and I'm relishing the final days of sleeping in, hanging out in pjs, soaking in the sun, and spending time with the kiddos. Life is good!

  1. I feel you sister! I went in 2 days last week to start getting things set up. I just tonight thought about renewing my class website (what is the address of yours). More power to you!
