Weigh In Wednesday

You may have noticed that I did not post a Weigh In Wednesday last week and that would be because I didn't have a weigh in. Matter-of-fact I didn't even have a scale. I was on vacation and loving life.

When I was packing for vacation I had great intentions of continuing to shred while I was away and packed both the DVD and my weights. Unfortunately my intentions fell flat and I haven't shredded in almost 2 weeks. The good news though is that I did run a 5K one day and two other mornings Dave and I went on bike rides and probably rode a good 5+ miles each time. Then there was the day spent walking through SeaWorld and the sightseeing walking too. I definitely wasn't sitting around on vacation that is for sure! When I got home I felt pretty good about my exercising while away.

On the other hand there was the food! Easter was spent with family and lots of delicious food including ham, a yummy potato dish, deviled eggs, and my mother in law's blueberry muffins which I could eat a whole pan full and still crave more not to mention cheesecake cups for dessert. Then of course there was the Easter candy laying around from the kiddos baskets that somehow found its way to my mouth along with the Reese's peanut butter eggs that were constantly jumping on the counter whenever I went in a store. Reese's peanut butter eggs and I are natural enemies and every year those darn eggs win more battles than I. Oh and don't forget my lunch the first day I was in Florida. Nothing like fried clams and french fries. Did I already mention the chocolate shakes, m&m's on car rides, fast food at amusement parks and on days of driving? Some not so great choices for sure.

All in all though I have to say that I am proud of some of the choices I made. I definitely didn't go crazy and that makes me feel good. So yesterday, I finally became brave enough and stepped on the scale. What I discovered was that not only did I come home with peeling skin, but I brought back 2 extra pounds as well!

Honestly, though I'm okay with it. I am confident that after a few days of staying on track and getting my running/shredding mojo back those 2lb will melt away. I will stay strong!
