In case you didn't know today is the last day of 2008.
*actually now that this post is finally ready to be published there are less than 4 hours until the new year.
Anyways. Another year. Gone.
I remember thinking how crazy my parents were when they always talked about how fast time went by when to me, as a child, it seemed to drag on forever. Now that I am (ahem) older I find myself complaining of the same thing. You blink and the day, week, year, is over.
For our family 2008 was a pretty good year. I decided to follow the blog back in time to remember the memories we created this past year. Here are a few of my blog highlights...
January:
I Started the year with some new goals
of course losing weight was at the top of the list.
I worked my butt off tackling my National Boards,
but with a new style
February:
I went on my first teacher conference to sunny Florida without the kids,
came back to enjoy a family night out at Disney on Ice, and
learned that "E" does not stand for "enough".
Happy Valentines Day
March:
My Boards were mailed off and I had 8 months of waiting to see if I passed.
We went to San Diego for our family vacation over spring break and visited Disneyland, San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Legoland, and had fun just exploring new places.
Happy Easter
April:
I decided to share my two cents on the Mommy Wars
and also talked about saying goodbye to homework.
Multitasking was how I juggled blogging and exercise.
May:
I got cultured and
We welcomed my new little niece, Sophia, into the world
I had a wonderful Mother's Day.
Tearfully I said goodbye to my grandma,
but celebrated with my lil brother when he graduated high school.
June:
I turned the BIG 3-0, and
the kids and I visited the Big Apple.
Zoe had her first dance recital,
I met some bloggy friends in real life for the first time, and
the family enjoyed the lazy days of summer.
July:
We spent more lazy days at the beach, on the boat, and at the waterpark.
It was a happy 4th of July.
I decided that I wasn't going to be nice anymore even if
Hubby and I celebrated our 9th anniversary.
The month came to a sad end as we said goodbye to our beloved pet Mako.
August:
We found ourselves on a camping adventure to Hershey Park
that started with my first massage.
I took the leap,
plus went mobile with my back to school present.
Finally, I bid the summer farewell and headed back to the classroom.
September:
Happy Labor Day
Dylan kicked butt at soccer, and
we spent a day with a king and queen.
October:
Love joined our family as we
Celebrated Zoe's 4th birthday, princess style.
I found myself in in a funk, but survived.
I decided that I needed to learn a lesson on financial responsibility,
Then I Carved some pumpkins and debated trick or treating.
November:
I fell in love with a vampire,
Visited New York and saw her up close,
I begged for my kids to be grateful, and
I PASSED MY NATIONAL BOARDS
In case you missed it...I PASSED MY NATIONAL BOARDS
Oh and it was a Happy Thanksgiving and I bid hello Christmas
December:
I Found the tree, made the list (hmmm still not all finished...maybe next year!), and baked cookies.
Meanwhile Dylan turned 8.
I Received my first free BIG blogging product and started vlogging
I also said hello to my best friends baby.
It was a very Merry Christmas our house.
Pshew. That took quite awhile, getting through an entire year. Although I did enjoy perusing through this past year and remembering the good times along with the few sad memories too.
All in all I think 2008 was a success and I look forward to seeing what 2009 has in store for our family!
