Tackle It Tuesday - Fall Wardrobes & Ebay

So in my excitement to get this weeks tackle out of the way I forgot to take pictures of the before and the after. Not cool! Especially considering that in the middle of the before it looked like a tornado had went through our house. So sorry I don't have the pictures, but I have to get some credit of what I accomplished so bear with me as I share my tackle in words only.

I took off this past Friday for a mental health day since I am just having a heck of a time settling into the new school year. However, that is all in another post so moving on. While I spent most of the day Friday blogging, twittering, and playing with the kids, I thought I should try to do something productive around the house. So I decided to change the summer wardrobes to winter wardrobes.

Sounds easy, right? Not exactly. Here's what I did...

  • Cleaned out both children's closets making a pile of clothes to be put away for next summer and another pile to be listed on Ebay in the spring.
  • Unpacked the fall/winter clothes from the bins in closets and had the kids try on just about everything to see if it was a keeper for this year. (Yeah, Dylan didn't really like me after about the second outfit. Zoe on the other hand acted like she just found her long lost friend as she saw her winter outfits. Yep, definitely my daughter!)
  • Made an Ebay pile of the kids outgrown clothes, tossed some others, and filled the dressers and closets with the keepers.
  • While I was at it with their clothes, I packed all my summer clothes away. Shorts, sleeveless shirts, summer dresses...all out of my closets. My drawers were replaced with jeans, sweaters, jackets, and wool skirts. (Gotta say I was as tickled as Zoe to see my "new" wardrobe!)
  • Finally, on Saturday I spent about 5 hours listing all the old clothes on Ebay!

So my sink is full of dishes, the laundry overflowing, and the bathrooms in desperate need of cleaning, but by golly I'm ready to dress for fall!!

What did you tackle this week? Don't forget to head over to 5minutesformom to see what everybody has been up to.

  1. Boy you did list a lot of stuff on ebay!!

  2. You are so smart. If we could bottle up the energy you have and sell it on ebay.....now that would be a good moneymaker.

    Thanks for sharing!

    You blog looks great!
Would love for you to come and visit me at my blog.

  3. I added you to my Ebay Favorite Sellers! I listed all weekend too - http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/robins_nestful_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZ

Plan on takling the closets this weekend b/c we have friday and Monday off from school (my least favorite job). Kudos on getting so much done!

  4. That is a great accomplishment! Still too warm here to make any kind of switch like that.

Go ahead...tell me like it is!
