Golf, Go-Karts, and Fun By All

Sundays and Tuesdays are my favorite days of the week because Dave is home and we get to spend the whole day together. This past Tuesday was kind of cloudy and threatening to rain so we weren't quite sure what to do. We decided to head into Ocean City, Maryland and follow our noses.
One of the things that Dave and I enjoyed doing before we had kids was playing mini golf. At that time we lived around Baltimore and would come over to the beach for weekends. We loved going to a new course and trying to beat the pants off each other. So what if Dave always kicked my butt, it was fun, right? When we had Dylan he learned early how to hold his own on the mini golf course and he would always beg for us to take him to play. Then somewhere along the way of life we stopped going as often. I digress.
This past Tuesday we decided to play some mini-golf on a safari course. The kids loved all the wild animals scattered around. Dylan had fun, but Zoe was a bit bored after the first hole and then complained she was hot the other 17. Dave won, anybody surprised, and I just enjoyed spending the time with the family.
After golf, we decided to race in some go-karts. This was on Dylan's must do summer list. So we hopped in the cars. Girls against the boys. We passed them. They passed us. We passed again. They passed and then won. Oh well, I got some great pictures and fun was had by all.

After the racing we headed into town and the Boardwalk. The Ocean City Boardwalk is where many people from Maryland come to vacation. It is usually much more crowded than our little piece of the beach so makes a good summer day trip. There is a big boardwalk with wooden play pieces that the kids can climb on. We enjoyed a water ice before heading for home.

Once we got home, we were just having too much fun together so the kids and I decided to have a squirt gun fight. I got a bucket of water and the box with all the water guns (that are kept high in the closet for sanity purposes) and let the fun begin. By the end we were all soaked, but had huge smiles on our faces so it was totally worth it.

I am so happy that I am a teacher and have summer vacation too. I enjoy being able to spend so much time with the kids just having fun. Family Rawks!!
