Still kickin'

I just realized that it has been almost two weeks since I've been around. I seem to have been in a funk with everything going on and basically I just didn't want to do anything, even blog, so you know it was bad. Anyways, I am back so time to play a little catch up...

First of all, THANK YOU to all who left such encouraging comments on my last post. The week did get better. My dad found out that the pain he is feeling has absolutely nothing to do with his heart. He completed a stress test and they were having a hard time getting his heart rate up for being 50 so they had to test him in a lower age range. They are not quite sure what is causing the pain, but it looks like it may be some kind of muscle problem. My father is a UPS driver and recently got a new truck that he just noticed is causing him some discomfort when shifting so he is thinking it may even be that. He is still having slight pains, but has not had the shortness of breath and dizziness. Praise the Lord! As far as my friend, God has definitely answered our prayers as she was sharing with me the other day that she can't believe what a sense of peace she has been given lately considering this difficult situation. She is being so incredibly strong, but honest with herself, which is great to see. I appreciate all the prayers for me also that I would know what to say and do to help. I feel that I was able to be there for her to listen and encourage without becoming overbearing, at least I hope so!

As for me and my teeth, well I am 4 teeth less as of this morning! I went in at 9:45 and had all four wisdom teeth removed as I dreamed in lala land. I still do not have any feeling in my lower mouth which absolutely stinks, not to mention I am starving and Dave made the kids pizza that smells delicious...SO NOT RIGHT!! I can only eat cold, soft foods for the first 24 hours so my diet today has consisted of two sugar free puddings and a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Yes, that noise you here is my stomach! On the bright side though, I should see some great numbers on my scale, right?

Thanksgiving was absolutely perfect! It started off with me weighing in at the lowest weight ever, 142, which was a bit intimidating considering it was Thanksgiving after all. I felt pretty comfortable with our menu though considering I always eat a small portion of turkey, and we were making WW stuffing, WW green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes with gravy. On the other hand my homemade croissants, cherry pie, and crab dip, not so great. Add all that with a glass of pinot grigio though and it was one yummy Thanksgiving Feast. Of course we watched the Macy's parade in the morning, which is something I have done since I was a little girl and I loved that this year the kids sat with me and watched the floats and bands. It was neat to see the cast from Legally Blonde perform since that is what mom and I saw a couple weeks ago. We only had David's aunt over for dinner so it was nice and quiet. She showed up around noon and Dylan had a blast teaching her how to play Wii games and Zoe enjoyed playing dolls and reading her American Girl catalog with her. I enjoyed having her because she is a great dishwasher, well and of course for some fun conversation too. Steph is one of those incredibly nice aunts who is just relaxed and fun. It is always nice spending time with her. All in all it was a very relaxing day. Here we are getting ready for dinner...

Now that I am back I will try to get out and visit you all! I hope you and your families had a terrific Thanksgiving too!!
