Here's a pix of gramma with Dyl and Zoe being greeted by the pirate at the front door.
And another of gramma and Zoe in her most favorite spot!
After dinner we headed back to our house for the cake because no birthday is complete without one, even if you are stuffed with crabs! Sally had requested a chocolate, chocolate cake and of course I just had to oblige, me being the nice daughter-in-law that I am (the fact that you even find the word chocolate in my blog title had nothing to do with it!). Zoe and Dyl helped make a devil's food chocolate cake that we iced with a chocolate chocolate chip icing and topped with strawberries and raspberries (I thought I should also encourage the eating of 5 fruits a day)!! I must say it was tasty...there is nothing like a homemade chocolate cake if I do say so myself! Finally, it was present time, one of Zoe's favorite birthday party times and she was right there to assist her grandma in the opening of her presents. Sally got a new teapot to use in their RV, some loose leaf tea, a glazed flower pot, a travel book that she has been wanting, and a beautiful new piece of pottery from my sister-in-laws shop. Judging from the pictures, I think the pottery won for best present...
Happy Birthday Sally!
Thank you for all that you do to make our family tick!!
That's one AWESOME day! :)
