It seems like I somehow lost a week there.
Two Fridays ago, I came down with one big ol' mess of sneezing, coughing, runny nose, achy muscles. It landed me in bed all day that Saturday where I dozed on and off fighting a low grade fever. Welcome back to school, I suppose!
Sunday, I was feeling a bit better, but pretty weak so I took it easy although I did venture out of the house for a couple hours of errand running. That wiped me out though and caused me to go right back to bed when I returned home.
I knew it was going to be a tiring week going back to school while still fighting the plague plus it was a busy week with one college course on Monday, a Tuesday night meeting, teaching a college course on Wendesday, and gymnastics on Friday. Thursday was actually the only day that I was slated to be home at a decent time and then I ended up not doing so because I stayed at school trying to get something accomplished there.
So needless to say my exercise and tracking was NOT at the forefront of my mine.
It was a week of survival so I decided to not stress my body with the extra exercise. Considering I was thoroughly exhausted every night and was still coughing and wheezing not to mention blowing my nose ever two seconds for pretty much the whole week, I think it was the right call.
However, I have no excuses for why I didn't track. It wasn't like taking the few minutes to log on after my meals would have required intensive labor or anything. The good side is that because of the head thing, I really didn't have much of an appetite. Honestly, I think I would have probably met my calorie intake goal on most of the days if not all of them. But, I do know that those calories can sneak up on you so I won't swear to it. I should not have gotten off track with tracking. But, I did.
Moving forward.
This past Saturday I decided it was time to get back to the grind. I completed Day 25 of the 30 Day Shred and while my chest heaved a bit more and I was wheezing here and there, I managed to get it done. I also got back on plan with tracking too. Even though I was sick all week and knew I was doing what my body needed, I did miss the exercising. I missed the energy I felt in the morning and the power I felt throughout the day knowing I had worked out that morning. I'm really looking forward to getting back into my routine this week.
But, first. Here's the facts.
Starting Weight - 161.8
WEEK 5 / 157.6 lbs / -1.0 / -4.2lbs
WEEK 6 / 157.6 lbs / -0.0 / -4.2lbs
So I didn't lose anything during my sick week, but didn't gain either so works for me!
WEEKLY GOAL: Get back into routine! Finish the 30 Day Shred and track every day!
BIG GOAL: 20lbs by Christmas
