One of the things I was looking forward to the most these next three days was sleeping in.
But, for some reason my body isn't cooperating. Sleeping in on spring mornings with the sun shining in, a breeze blowing through the windows bringing with it the smell of cut grass, flowers, and fresh air, and the sound of birds chirping good morning was as good as it got. I'd finally roll out of bed around 10:00 to grab a cup of coffee, some toast, and slowly begin my day. It was my norm to not shower or dress until after lunch.
Now here I am today with the sun shining in the windows, the fresh air blowing through the house, and the birds chirping outside, but instead of being snuggled in my warm, soft bed, I'm sitting on the couch blogging. Did I mention it's only 7:30am??
In a way I suppose, I did sleep in considering during the week I get up at 5:30am for work. This morning I woke up, saw it was only 6am and was determined to go back to sleep so I could sleep in. Of course I was then woken up a half hour later by Zoe asking where her bathing suit was because we talked about going to the beach today. I did manage about an hour more, but then figured if I was just laying there in bed I may as well get up and start the day.
With a cup of coffee and my laptop of course, I'm getting some relaxation out of this weekend!
What time do you usually start your day? Does it differ between weekdays and weekends? What about the seasons? Can you sleep in when you get the chance? So many questions. That's what you get since I couldn't sleep in.
I wake up whenever the baby wakes me up...usually much earlier than I would like to be awake!
ReplyDeleteI usually wake up when the sun starts coming into my bedroom. After the time change I realized that I needed to be up earlier so I started leaving the blinds open...but now that I'm getting up before 7am each morning, I think it's time to shut the blinds again. :D
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to sleep in lately but it's not working... I'm usually awake between 7 and 7:30...
ReplyDeleteMy kids usually get up between 6:30 and 8 so i am up as well. I wish it would change on weekends but alas my kids know no difference. I do get the chance to sleep in when my hubby is off but usually never make it past 8:30 or 9. Coffee and computer is my morning start and then off to keep up with my kids.
ReplyDeleteIf you get a chance i am having my very first giveaway over on my blog. Some cute girly stuff for a little princess.
Ha ha Mel you're so funny :)
ReplyDeleteI work from 9h30 to 6 (and often much later), so I get up at 7h45... I try to wake up earlier these days so I can work out in the morning - but some days I just need the sleep too much... I don't have children yet so I sleep as much as possible :) I try to get up at the same time on the weekends if only because otherwise I get really tired on Mondays...
we typically rise early all days. they say sleeping in gives you jet lag. 5:30 - 6:00 during the week, maybe 6:30 on weekends. I figure if I'm up early during the week, then I want to make the most of my weekend days too!
