WARNING - Once you start you can't stop. TWILIGHT!

Now if you don't know, I love reading. I think that is partly why I am such a great reading teacher (yeah, modest too). I truly have a passion for reading. I love curling up with a no brainer book, visiting faraway places, and going on journeys in my imagination.
Which brings to me to my latest book addiction...The Twilight Series. I kept hearing everybody talking about the series, but must admit that I wasn't too keen on the sound of it. Vampires aren't really my thing! Then last week I was walking in WalMart and saw the book right by the checkout. Being the impulse buyer that I am I put it on the belt and thought I would at least keep an open mind.
About six hours later I had a very open mind although my husband and kids probably wouldn't agree as I finished the entire book last Sunday!! Once I started I just couldn't put it down. I found myself doing the whole "just one more chapter." Of course when I finished the first book I knew the second one was waiting and went out the following day to buy it. It did take me a few days to finish that one. What can I say? I had to go to school and teach. I finished that one mid week and finally yesterday got to WalMart to buy the third book in the series.
Thank goodness that it's Election Day and I don't have to go to school. You will find me curled up on my couch, in my pj's, visiting my pals Edward and Bella and following them on their next dangerous adventure. I'll be reading to discover...will he make her immortal or not?

  1. I read all four of these books in about 2 weeks. I couldn't put them down. One of my students recommended them. It was so exciting seeing my hs kids thrilled about good books. Yaay!

  3. Welcome sweetie, welcome:) So glad you've joined us. The second was my least favorite, so I'm not surprised it took you longer. 3rd and 4th? Um, see you next week.

  4. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I love to read, I do enjoy fantasy/sci-fi, so I thought I would like Twilight. Nope. I found the characters to be one-dimensional and...well...irritating. It was all so melodramatic. But that's just me. I know lots of people love it, and I do understand the joy of discovering a series that completely draws you in. Hope you enjoy the rest of the series!

  7. I read the first 2 really quickly but haven't picked up the third. I think I needed a break from them. I loved the first and just liked the second.
